Leo Moons & Their Chaotic Life, I mean Light *

As a Leo moon, we take on multiple roles in this world but one of them is to shine bright like a diamond. Leos are known as the brave, loyal, and confident individual in the zodiac. If you have a Leo woman in your life, they’re most likely the life of the party, or always speaking life into you. It’s almost programmed within you to be great at what you do and to be your biggest cheerleader. Although many moon signs exist, I think the leo moon girly oozes intelligence, confidence, sex appeal,ambition, femininity, strong leadership skills, and resiliance. On the outside, we make life look amazing, but it doesnt change the fact that life will still whip you into shape every now and then. From Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce, and even Megan Thee Stallion, this moon sign has shown us even the most confident women face challenges that not many people could ever overcome while still presenting themselves in a beautiful light. Because of their resilience, people are quick to forget to be empathetic when dealing with them.

Leo moons are the most unorthodox moon signs in the zodiac. As a leo moon woman, it’s important to define what kind of life and woman you want to be in this world before ANYONE defines it for you. The downfall of allowing others to define who you are is experiencing lot’s of rage. From a young age, I use to simply run away from home and stay at my friends house until I get that “please come home” call because when we don’t feel welcome or embraced, we activate our fight or flight response. But little me didn’t know why I was so damn unhinged as a kid. Like the time I called 911 when my mom said “I got something for that ass when I get home”. I still crack up at the thought of little me panicking like “oh this lady is going to kill me in this house”, meanwhile was it that serious? I guess we’ll never know.

Safety for us is Key. Freedom to simply be for us, is also KEY.

I learned that I had a Leo moon during my early 20s as I dived into my birth chart out of curiousity. I’ve always wondered why I was so theatrical in my expression while still being able to maintain my cool when I truly just want to crash out in peace. I truly see why Beyonce doesn’t speak outside of her music. People will idolize you to the point of it being inhumane! Who the fuck wants to experience life from a place where people aren’t able to understand that you deserve empathy just like everybody else? You cannot love how someone makes YOU feel and not have an ounce of grace for them when they’re being vulnerable.

Another fellow Leo moon, Megan Thee Stallion, recently she did an interview on the red carpet with Hannah Berner after the Oscar’s ceremony. Although I’m sure the intention within the interview was for Hannah to express her admiration for Megan’s strength, she went on to say that her music make’s her want to fight.. girl.

Now if she said her music makes me want to f*ck, I would definitely understand her statement. But, Megan has endured ENOUGH violence in her life, it’s time for the world to understand that she’s not bullet proof she is just a girl. We have to remember to do onto those as you’d like to be done onto you. If not, you’ll reap what you sow, next time, sew those lips UP. I have enough awareness to recognize when someone was just being funny and when they’re just being dense and I think Hannah displayed alittle of both, I mean she is a comedian. But that doesn’t take away the awkwardness within the moment, and that is something that Leo moons face often. The lack of humility, and understanding that someone who is attractive also has feelings just like you bitch.

In our world, it is what you say and when you say it. We almost don’t care how you say it because as a fire moon, we can take criticism, but if it’s disguised as a dig we WILL dig you back so be ready to be blinded by our light.

And just to be clear, we will fire back with being more sexy, successful, confident, an whimsical. Sometimes words are just not enough, we need to go for the secular.

Maya Angelou, who happens to be a Leo moon, is one of my favorite writers. She simply never cared about speaking her truth or expressing the truths within womanhood. In her poem “ Woman’s work” she expresses the immense labor that black women take on within this world and how isolating it can feel. I’ve adapted her style of writing by including myself as an example when describing different experiences that I’m trying to convey in my blog posts. To me, I’m utilizing the use of first person perspective to add authenticity and intimacy to my expression. Maya did an amazing job at embodying her own and other women’s feelings within this world, that takes a lot of awareness and that’s why she will always be remembered as the GOAT in my eyes.

Rihanna is another one of my favorite Leo moons, and she has also taken on the untraditonal route in life where she pivoted from making music to making billions by simply being a girl. Til this day, you’ll find a fan in her comments talking about music even though she has a plethora of businesses along with 2 beautiful children to raise. If I were her, I’d respond by saying “you first” whenever people bombard her about returning to making music.

Rihanna has always been unapologetically herself, and that’s why we love her. Fans often project their own expectations onto her, especially when it comes to her relationship with A$AP Rocky, but that’s all subjective and ignores what truly makes her happy. She’s a Caribbean gyal, embracing her ghetto fabulous vibe, blending high fashion with streetwear, and owning her authenticity ; nothing about her is performative. Trying to fit her into some fairytale princess narrative misses the point of what makes her iconic: she’s real, raw, and living life on her terms. Like Princess Diana, who struggled with the expectations placed on her, Rihanna refuses to conform. She’s a queen in her own right, not playing by anyone else’s rules, and that’s what makes her legendary.

Leo Moons have historically been trailblazers, not because they’re trying to be, but because their energy demands it. Their presence alone shakes things up, and their ability to remain true to themselves despite scrutiny is what makes us iconic.
