Happy Halloween! If you’re not into trick or treating this holiday, I’m here to share my experience recently at The Color Factory. One thing I’ve learned about Houstonians, they do NOT play about the holidays. You can’t drive anywhere without seeing someone decking out their car or front yard with skeletons or something creepy. Since the holiday spirit is so strong here, I was inspired to visit some fun attractions this fall to celebrate Spooky Szn. 🧡🖤

The Color Factory is a quirky art space filled with immersive, colorful installations, featuring a ball pit & huge levitating balloons. I initially discovered this cool museum while living in NY and my inner child went crazy in each room I entered. There’s multiple rooms filled with vibrant colors, themes, and interactive activities that are great for kids, and or couples. Throughout the experience, you also get an opportunity to take high quality photos for your photo dump, they provide you with fun treats along the way such as macaroons, icecream, and candy ( in case you have a sweet tooth). I must say, it’s not cheap but it’s a great way to escape from adulting and embrace true art so I’d say it’s worth every penny!

As you enter the museum, there’s a huge polka dot pumpkin with a yarn chandelier hovered over it. I was stunned by the articulate design because it was layered so perfectly with the variety of colors that were used. I mean, where else can you find a huge polka dot pumpkin other than the color factory ? Exactly.

The Houston Color Factory incorporated a wall filled with some of the city’s most popular landmarks in a very unique way. Houston is known for the amazing job opportunities, the low cost of living, and of course the warm weather but the color factory was able to shed light on the small things that makes the city great. As you begin to move through the different rooms, you are invited to utilize your senses whether it’s through sight, sound, taste, even through smell. Since it’s Halloween, there were a few spooky themed rooms but it was still very kid friendly so you don’t have to worry about having any nightmares.

All in all, I had an amazing time letting loose, and having some fun with my partner at The Color Factory. It has become one of our favorite places to go no matter what city we’re in although tbh I enjoyed the one in NY alittle more but that’s just me. I won’t ruin the experience for you so I’ll let you see for yourself. The Haunted Hues experience will only be available until November 1st so, if you’re in town, you should definitely check it out if you enjoy art and spontaneous outings.
